I have an issue with how to structure a footer so that a client's side can be updated in the future. The page is at www.jontakiff.com/brooks.

I've structured this in the typical way, with the left nav floated left, the right nav floated right and the footer cleared. The problem - the client is going to want to add nav items to the left column. In doing so, the left column pushes the footer down, which causes the white gutter under that main image to increase about 20px. I'm trying to figure out a way that, when you add a nav item, the bottom images are pushed down, but the gray background stays where it is.

Any ideas?
