    Smile overflow:auto

This has probably been asked before in this forum, but I can't seem to type in the right search criteria for it. The search does not come out with any solution for me.

I have a div with overflow:auto. In this div, I have a table with lots of rows. At the top of the table is a header line. What I am trying to do is somehow keep the header lines up on top while it scrolls the rest of the information.

Is this possible at all? I think it is, but I just can't seem to figure out or find out the solution.

    Thank you for helping.

this might be clumsy but perhaps you could take the header out of the table and make it an h2 or whatever that precedes the table, and visually get it into place using relative positioning.
