    resolved [RESOLVED] Favicon Help

    http://www.uhrebirth.com

I haven't tested this in all browsers, so it might happen in all of them. If you bookmark my website in Firefox, and highlight it in your bookmarks (like you're about to click it), the image will have something like blue specks on the white. What would cause this? It's an image sitting on a white background, and the image as a whole is 16x16 pixels.

It's not as easy to see on a screen shot, but if you look at the bookmarks link I have highlighted in that image, you'll see that its favicon has something like blue specks on the white background part of it.

Saving the favicon and opening it up in PhotoShop shows lots of specks in the background of the image. So I'd say problem is not particular browsers but the image itself.
Not sure how the icon was created but it has problems now. You could always clean up the image in PhotoShop to remove the specks.

It's a .ico file. Photoshop (or at least my Photoshop) refuses to open it.

Thanks for the help, I got it working

scragar, do you know about any bugs with that plugin? I would love to be able to use that plugin. However, after I installed it, it didn't do anything. I can now open the .ico images and edit them, but nothing happens when I save them. Photoshop ACTS like it saves the file okay, but you can open the image up right afterward and it's completely unaltered. Was there a specific folder I was supposed to save that plugin in? I figured it was considered an extension, so I saved it in the extensions folder.

I think you may have the plugin in the wrong folder. You should have put the plugin in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins\File Formats.
Move the plugin into the "File Formats" folder inside your Photoshop Plugins folder:

    Hope this gets it working

Moving it to the File Formats folder did the trick. Thanks
