accordion menu active

hope someone can shed some light on this,

need to make the the 3rd header from the top become active. the script works on the first child receives the active state.

It would help to see your code, but going off of the documentation, you should be able to do:

$('.selector').accordion({ active: 2 });

I'm guessing what you have right now is just :

$('.selector').accordion( );

*EDIT* Just tested and this seemed to work fine for me.

thank you my friend but i don't see where:
$('.selector').accordion( );
is at in the script:

this code:
$('.selector').accordion({ active: 2 });
is what the documentation is suggesting but i don't know exactly where to put it.

I _think_ you want to change this part:

jQuery().ready(function(){
		// simple accordion
		jQuery('#list1a').accordion();
		jQuery('#list1b').accordion({
			autoheight: false
		});

If you look at your code it looks like the part you need to change is the the list1b accordion

try changing it to:

jQuery().ready(function(){
		// simple accordion
		jQuery('#list1a').accordion();
		jQuery('#list1b').accordion({
			autoheight: false,
                        active: 2
		});

all headers got closed. when i click they open up in FF, but ie game me an error

this supposed to be simple. the damn document is no help.
