    And if line 24 =
    $this->connection = mysql_connect ("sql9.**********.com", "a8238318_2", "******") or die(mysql_error());
    I get error:
    Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Host '216.108.239.136' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server in /home/a8238318/public_html/include/database.php on line 24

    That is the correct syntax, strings must be in quotes. The second error is relating to your MySQL server configuration, it is not a PHP problem. You need to allow connections as this user from your IP. Normally you would be using a local MySQL server and connect via localhost, but I assume from the domain name that you are using a dedicated MySQL box?
