Where can I find free stock photos for commercial use on the web?

I need stock photos. I use iStockPhoto (paid) and Stock Exchange (Free).

I need other free stock photo sites. I've been looking for months and haven't found any. Do you know of any resources?

    Thanks,

Try http://commons.wikipedia.org/. You'll have to take a look at the license associated with each photo, but I think everything there is freely distributable. I can't verify that at the moment though--the servers are down with technical difficulties ...

I agree with Apple. Flash is just terrible.

It's back up ... In general, I think the GNU license is primarily used. Someone who knows a bit more about it than me should comment on that license. But, if it's the license I'm thinking of, you're free to use the images for whatever you want, so long as you maintain the original license with those images.

So, if you use the images on a commercial site, you must state somewhere which images are available under the GNU license (free for users to "take") and post a link to the license or a copy of the license text.

I actually have neglected to do that on one or two of my projects thus far; but I'm under the impression that folks will be stealing images off my site either way--so I don't worry about it ...

Thanks for the info. I looked at the site and it looks like it contains more textbooklike images than artsy photos I could use in media. I WILL keep this in mind though! Thanks!

    Any others?

There are many resources available online for what you need.
Just Google it and you will be surprised as to what you will discover.
If it is a specific image or relating images, then merely Google that.
As for paying for images, why bother. Just right click the image you want and save it to your
hard drive selecting " Save picture as " If the image is watermarked so what, use Photoshop
    to clean it up.
Here's one site I'll offer you for the time being, should keep you busy .....
