Question Allowing .gif files to parse PHP

How can I use .htaccess to allow .gif images to parse PHP? Thanks.

    Code:
                    AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .gif

So this alone in a .htaccess file will do it? For some reason a file I have works when the extension is .php, but says can not draw image because file contains errors when I rename the same script as a .gif.

Why would you want to parse all .gif files as PHP? If you are trying to output images using PHP just send the appropriate headers including the mime type and call it the same way you would other image files: <img src="your_php.php" />.
