loop for putting pictures in a html document

hi. I am triying to develop an utility for generating a report in HTML with a lot of images. how can i code this, perhaps with a for loop? i mean, i want to put a lot of pictures in an html document with the help of a loop. Is it possible?
How could i do this?

Sure it's possible and there are about a million different ways to do this. We're going to need a lot of context. Is this global or local? On the internet or local disk? What OS are you using? What scripting tools do you have available?
