    Uploading videos to my website

I have a website in which I have a simple database for uploading videos that I take with my video camera.

People can watch the videos by clicking on them. Anyway, my camera takes videos as .mov files. Is there a file type which I should convert these to for purposes of universality and maybe a more condensed size.

Thanks. I'm not very versed when it comes to media stuff.

You should consider convert your .MOV files into .FLV (Flash streaming video format). FLV is much smaller, and can support more browsers than .MOV file format, and is cross platform.
