    Left and Top Border Problem...spacer1.gif - Confused!

    Hi, my heads begining to hurt now, i just don't seem to get around this.

    Basically I've been asked to convert this page in to an email flyer, but in IE 7 and 8 theres a border allong the top and left side of that page that i can't get rid of. The border seems to be made up from spacer1.gif, with height and width set in the table code.

    If i remove the spacer the site falls apart. Is there anyway i can get rid of the spacers and still keep the page together, or any other way around this? Bearing in mind this is to be a HTML email not a website.

    Thanks guys.

    heres the html for the top spacer.

    HTML Code:
    <body background="http://www.cnsdemo2.co.uk/polar/images/bg.jpg">
    <table border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" valign="top"  >
      <tr>
       <td><img src="http://www.cnsdemo2.co.uk/polar/images/spacer1.gif" width="27" height="1" border="0" alt=""  /></td>
       <td><img src="http://www.cnsdemo2.co.uk/polar/images/spacer1.gif" width="163" height="1" border="0" alt="" /></td>
       <td><img src="http://www.cnsdemo2.co.uk/polar/images/spacer1.gif" width="41" height="1" border="0" alt="" /></td>
       <td><img src="http://www.cnsdemo2.co.uk/polar/images/spacer1.gif" width="110" height="1" border="0" alt="" /></td>
       <td><img src="http://www.cnsdemo2.co.uk/polar/images/spacer1.gif" width="91" height="1" border="0" alt="" /></td>
