Pager script, only connected to img buttons

Hi,

I'm working on a page which needs to load inpage content like the jquery cycle script (pager version) on http://malsup.com/jquery/cycle/int2.html or like the script on http://rikrikrik.com/jquery/pager/.

Only thing is, these scripts generate the links (<< 1 2 3 4 >>) to switch between content. However, I would like to connect them to buttons. This probably needs to be done by adding a class (or span class) to them.

Does anyone know how to make this work?
