Angry MSIE 8 and Firefox 3 padding incompatibility

I'm creating a page with a horizontal menu across the top. It looks beautiful in Firefox, but the padding seems to be causing me no end of trouble in IE.

Most notably is the menu at the top of the page. The rest I can live with, but the menu needs to fit inside the page container in both browsers.

Anyhow, the page is here to look at:

I have validated both the html and the css.

What can I do to fix the padding problems in IE?

    Thanks very much.

Looks fine to me in IE8 - did you fix it?

You are using an invalid DTD, use one of these.
