Does anyone know of some good (free) "join mailing list" apps?

I want to put a "join our email mailing list" feature on my site, but I would like it to be automatic (go directly to a software program and allow me to modify it later). Does anyone know of some free sources that do this?

Something simpler would suffice, just to collect the submitted information securely and allow me to do mass-mailing.
