301 permanent redirect on a Microsoft server

    Hi there,

I'm new to 301 redirects and was wondering if anyone can help me?

I need to apply permanent redirects onto standard HTML pages. The HTML pages are sat on a Microsoft server, so I'm guessing I can't do .htaccess? As I say I'm new to this so any help on this matter is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

You will have to write the 301 redirection code in your html file as in Windows server it does not support .htaccess file. Kindly check the below mentioned URL:

http://www.somacon.com/p145.php (You will have to save the file as ASP).

IIS does support folder level redirection. You will not be able to redirect at a file level but can certainly redirect at the folder level.
