I recently created my own personal website for resume purposes through godaddy.com.
I used their software called website tonight, and it worked nicely.
I am a college broadcasting major who is interested in creating his own website with plenty of podcasts, archives, message boards, areas to comment, etc. I want the site to be able to let people register on the site with a username.
Godaddy didn't have the software to do this sort of thing. What is a cost-efficient way of creating a website with all these features? Any ideas? Do I need to go to a different web developer site? I'm new to website design, but I love tinkering around with it figuring out what I want to do for a site. Thanks for the help.
You can either create your own custom application (or have someone else create it for you) or you can use one of millions of open source CMS solutions. Just find one to suit your taste/situation and start altering the layout as you see fit.
