How to build this site

Song Contest Site


I need to design a song contest site similar to http://www.soundclick.com/genres/cha...re=Alternative.
I am a noob and have designed a few sites with joomla.
I am not sure how I can integrate a poll with an mp3 player tied to the poll.
I welcome any ideas and if I need to learn another way to do this like, flash or php, I am up for the challenge.

Hi

Since the site requires user interaction, you will need to use some form of server-side language such as PHP, ASP.NET or other. Flash can also do it, but it would be a lot more difficult and would still require server side processing. Unfortunately, unless you can find a dedicated CMS to deal with the problem, your best bet is to learn either of the two server-side programming languages above (or any others) and see what you can come up with.
