People will hate you for doing that.
People will hate me for showing you how to do that.
People will leave your page very fast if there are no controls for the music.
People will think your page is amateurish for your efforts.

    But if you still insist...

    Go here:
    http://www.tizag.com/htmlT/music-code.php

See how annoying that music is?
Do you still need to do this? Without a 'mute' button?

Whenever I encounter a website that plays music automatically, I instantly leave the site. Having music played once the site is loaded is THE MUST obnoxious thing you can do. Think of your visitors, they might have the volume turned all the way up on their computer. You might give them a heart attack!!!!

Agreed. Even worse than showing up on webdeveloper.com and hearing please type your message in the box below ... or whatever.

I am glad Webdeveloper.com doesn't do that any more. Any kind of unexpected, unwanted audio/music is a great way to turn visitors away.

If you want multimedia or streaming media on your page, embed it on the page in a player that the user can turn on if they want to hear/see it.

You can see that a few others share my opinion.
