I want to share a couple hundred photos with a friend of mine so when i uploaded them under mywebsite.com/specificfolder and when i go there it gives me 404 error. so should i create an index page and put all the images there with <img ...> or what is the best way? remember there are about 260 photos so i can not type img that much but the photos are in sequential numbered orders so is there a shortcut to type them? or even if they are able to click a link of the files it and download it, that would be okay too. in that case how do you just list the file names in a web directory (at the same time downloadable for each picture) thanks
I get this error by the way and I am sure the website address is correct:
You don't have permission to access /myyfoldername/ on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
You would need an index.* file as the 404 error is generated since no file name was included in path. I think you would be better off trying JAlbum's free software (photo album creator) to make your pages for your images and then provide a link to them in the nav menu on all pages. Also, you might look at using Lightbox or Shadowbox.
