You have to do different types of submissions like web 2.0 submissions, link wheel, create different blog and update your content in it also you can do is write different articles and submit it on different article directories, do blog commenting, social bookmarking etc, but while doing all that thing you have to keep in mind one thing that site must give doffolow link on which you submit your link because nofollow links are not catche by search engines. 100% doffolow links are not good but you have atleast 70% dofollow backlinks from all your link.

Most of the above are good suggestions. I definitely agree that, when it comes to back links, quality is better than quantity. You want to try and get back links from sites with a higher PR (Page Rank) than your. Also, if you post on a Blog or forum it is a good idea to offer some useful/relevant information. Back link aquisition can take time, but it will do wonders for your search engine results. Good luck.

You need to submit your website url in directories with selecting proper category. Post classified who are providing direct link. For back link you need a direct link through different other sites. You can use link exchange through relevant sites.

I agree, look at your competitors backlinks and try and mimic where they have posted links.

Guest blogging is also too effective these days, so you can use guest post for building quality links.

Since you have a travel site, you can write a link bait called "100 Things You Should Not Do While On Vacation" or something similar to this. Articles like this (if properly written and minimally promoted) tend to attract a lot of links. Sure, it might take you a while to write a great, helpful, funny article like this, but it will be well worth it.
