    Swap values of DropDownList

    I have three DropDownList, all have values of 1,2 and 3...

    DropDownList1 has a selected value of 1

    DropDownList2 has a selected value of 3

    DropDownList3 has a selected value of 2

    What I want is to swap values.

    i.e. if I selected number 2 in DropDownList1, DropDownList3 should select 1 automatically.

    This is an example. You can use as many selects as you want:

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html lang="en" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <title>Test</title>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
    <style type="text/css">

    </style>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var storedValues = [];

    function swap(obj)
    {
        var sels = document.getElementById('groupSel').getElementsByTagName('select');

        for (var i = 0; l = sels.length, i < l; i++)
        {
            if (sels[i].id != obj.id && sels[i].value == obj.value)
            {
                var opts = sels[i].getElementsByTagName('option');

                for (var j = 0; m = opts.length, j < m; j++)
                {
                    if (opts[j].value == storedValues[obj.id])
                    {
                        opts[j].selected = 'true'
                        break;
                    }
                }

                break;
            }
        }
    }

    function store(obj)
    {
        storedValues[obj.id] = obj.value;

    function init()

            var id = 'gs_' + i;

            storedValues[id] = sels[i].value;
            sels[i].id = id;
            sels[i].onmouseup = function() {
                store(this);
            };
            sels[i].onchange = function() {

    Hello All,
    Actually i need the same functionality to be get worked for my code also. I am using Ruby on Rails, Javascript & HTML. My problem is i am fetching the drop down list values as position from database and it repeats for number of items.
    i.e., Item 1 - Dropdown values(1,2,.......10) - 1 selected
    Item 2 - Dropdown values(1,2.......10) - 2 selected an so on.
    From the above mentioned i cannot use document.getElementById('groupSel').getElementsByTagName('select') as there is only one select in loop. sels[i].onchange is also not working. Please help how can i get it worked. Its' urgent.
