    non-scripted or server side date stamp

    I'm trying to get a server side date stamp on the page. I just want to display the year. I've seen the following line on many pages.

    Code:
    <!-- #BeginDate format:Am1a --> (date info) <!-- #EndDate -->
    I spent awhile on google trying to figure out if I can use this, but there was too much garbage for me to filter through. Can anyone help me out with this?

    PHP:

    date('Y'); //Get the current year

    .NET:

    lblYear.Text=DateTime.Now;
