    What am I doing wrong?

    I thought this would work, but I am obviously doing something wrong.
    Any help would be great.

    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
    <title>Untitled Document</title>

    <script type="text/javascript">
    var slides = new Array(3); // the number in brackets defines how many images your gallery has
    var j=0;
    for(var i=1; i<=3; i++){
    slides[i] = new Image();
    slides[i].src = "images/tonaquint_" + i + ".jpg"; }
    function Swap(number){
    document.slide.src = slides[number].src;}

    <table width="681" height="474" border="1">
    <td><table width="681" height="474" border="1">
    <td colspan="3" align="center"><img name="slide" src="images/tonaquint_one.jpg" width="523" height="392"></td>

    <td><a href="javascript:Swap(2)"><img src="images/thumb_tonaquint_two.jpg" border="0" /></a></td>
    <td><a href="javascript:Swap(3)"><img src="images/thumb_tonaquint_three.jpg" border="0" /></a></td>

    Some Basic Debugging 101 should help you find the bug the in your code.

    hint: you're not preloading your images correctly.

    Your code works ok when I test it with my own test pics.

    Somewhere behind your screen
    1. var j = 0; - what was it for?
    2. what are the names of the images:
    xxx: Guess Buddhist riddle: "What is the sound of one hand clapping?"
    yyy: facepalm
