    fonts look different

    Hi, i reinstalled my operative system from win vista to win xp sp3, and i use the same version xampp. I checked this on several browsers and they all show the same.

    My fonts shows suddently all different and its kind of frustrating becouse they dont look so good to me, and i dont know why this is.

    css code for the fonts are:

    Code:
    font: bold 13px Arial;
    you can see the difference here:

    the above is the original, and the below is the new one, which i find worse..

    as mentioned before, i havent done anything to the code...

    maybe some fonts arent installed on xp?

    Vista uses an advanced algorithm to determine the sizes to accommodate high resolution screens without making fonts nearly invisible because they become so small. Is it also possible you might've also changed to a different browser/version?

    as i said all the browsers shows the same, has to do something with the operative system. the fonts look really ugly now ^^

    XP does not use any such rendering algorithm.

    Purely an OS thing, I think. Slight differences of interpretation of the font render.
