    Send HTML Email ?

    Hello there

I want to send html email from my mailing list but it doesn't seem to work

I use Mail from Mac OSX to send it

Does it require me to know PHP or ASP to perform that or is there any way to go around that and send html email to my subscribers ?

    Thanks in advance

What exactly do you want to know? Do you want to send an email with HTML content, or do you want to send an email from a web page?

I would suggest either finding or building your own website system by which people can sign up. Get the list of addresses, wherever they are stored. After that, simply use your normal email client or webmail to send mail to all the clients in the list. bcc is your friend (blind carbon-copy stops everyone from seeing everyone, hopefully cutting down on the end user's system resources).

That's what I did so far Savvykms
but the problem is I can't insert HTML in my Emails .
I tried using Gmail and Apple mail to do so
    HTML goes like Plain text

How can I insert HTML code to be viewd as real HTML ?

I hope you have any suggestion for that ....
    Thanks alot

I just send myself an HTMl email using my gmail account. It works fine, both in gmail's web application and Mozilla Thunderbird. Looking at the source code for the email, I discovered it has a plain text alternative as well. Chances are good that you have a setting somewhere denying HTML emails, so it shows up as plain text.

I tried it with bunch of different accounts and it doesn't seem to work
even if I do something basic like
    PHP Code:
    <html>
    <
    body>
    <
    h1>hello thee </h1>
    </
    body>
    </
    html
    it doesn't work..
at the same time I get messages from other companies in html and I have no problem viewing it as HTLM so I don't think there's any settings I have to change

    will this be solved ?

    Thanks for your patience

Here is part of the gmail message source (includes email headers and HTTP content-type information):
    HTML Code:
    Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1

    <font style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000" color="#ffffff">testing</font> <strong>1</strong> <em>2</em> <u>3 </u>
I think your problem is you include <html> and other elements specific to web pages in full. I believe most clients like partial HTML input, such as normal body child nodes, without <html> <head> <body> <meta> etc.

well, This is as frustrating as it seems
Still no luck with that .
I noticed that most newsletter owners have hosted emails saved in their website

Can that be a solution ? what do you think I should do ?

    Really appreciate your time

To be honest I've never signed up for a newsletter nor run one.
What client(s) are you using to send the email?
What client(s) are you receiving the email on?

I would suggest checking for html vs plain text settings.

Check your host provider admin control panel. The host(s) I have used all have a server option to allow easy mailing list creation and administration and all the tools to make or break a subscription and also send plain text or HTML as per requirements of the subscriber.

You should not be forcing HTML emails on to people unless they want them.
