Float a Fixed Width Box on the Right Side + Fill White Space with Left Box

I'm using div tags to position my content and want to have two boxes side by side.

The right box needs to be a fixed width and i want the box on the left to take up the rest of the space. How do i go about doing this?

you have to float both boxes with a fix width in your css.

So it's impossible to get the left box to fill the remaining blank space?

no its not impossible you can use tables. insert 1 row 2 columns and adjust it to the width of your site. now insert the a div into each column and adjust the right column to your fix width that you desire for the right div. now once your content as been enter in both if one side don't match up all you have to do is hit enter for the side that doesn't match up. this is the simple way to do it
