I hope this isn't too foolish a question.
I run a small education history website (http://pwencycl.kgbudge.com) that has some simple php code for looking up military units by nationality and name. For example, http://pwencycl.kgbudge.com/oob/us.p...=Pacific_Fleet should return information on the Pacific Fleet. I use this internally on other pages at the site; it's not really something I expect users to type into their address bar. I log bad queries so I can catch errors in my own web pages. These include listing a unit not in the database, but they also include catching badly formed queries.
I have been getting a lot of queries of the form "cvtes=32". These don't seem to show up in my Apache server logs. I've Googled "cvtes" to see if this is some standard query, for example from Web indexing spiders, but haven't found anything.
Be patient with my ignorance if there is a simple explanation.
