Problem with png type file uploads

    Hi All,

I am not sure I am posting this thread into the right section but cannot find where else it fits better so apologies if I got it wrong -

I am having a very strange issue with uploading png files, I am using Filezilla as FTP software and every time I upload any png, the files do get upload but seem to lose all their properties and are not download when viewing the website they are supposed to be on. This has now happened on two completely independent websites. I can see fine those png files into my web pages on my local machine.

All other image files upload fine.

    Any idea why this happens?

    Thank you for your help

    P

Is this just with png or with other image formats as well?
Have you set the mode to binary for image upload?

    Hi Fang,

This issue only occurs with png files. My transfer type is set up on 'auto', not binary

    Cheers

As Fang mentioned, be sure to check for upper/lower case in the file extension also.
Many times when I edit a .jpg file in PhotoShop and then save it, it gets saved with a .JPG file extension. If not caught before uploading, it gives problems when the html or xml code is looking for a .jpg extension.
