Hi am currently trying to get a product to be compatible with IE8.

The product was built using ASP.NET MVC and uses the following JQuery files

cometd.js
jquery-1.4.2.mins.js
jquery-ui-1.8.2.custom.css
jquery-ui-1.8.2.custom.mins.js
jquery.cometd.js
jquery-json-2.2.js
jquery.validate.min.js

The product works fine in the latest Chrome version, Opera and Safari, it doesn't woek in Firefox.

The page I am trying to load sends a get request with and id number in the URL. That number is to be displayed on the webpage but doesn't for IE8, Firefox.
Also the page uses several <div id="atag"> that do not get processed

$(document).ready(function() {
they are connected to a $("#atag").dialog({
.ghdh:gd,
.grg:gsdgr,
.gesgh:
});
}

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this style of coding when developing for in particular IE8 (not really mind about Firefox) and how I would go about remedying this please

Thanks in advance
