    resolved [RESOLVED] Run Ajax routine from popup

    This code works fine in good browsers, but not in IE.

    Main page has a table with an Ajax update routine I use with several functions. The update routine simply pulls from the db and rewrites the table.

    The Popup holds a text editor that updates the database. The desire is to have the "Close" button update the table on the main page before exiting the popup.

    Modal windows are out. This has to be a standard window.

    This works fine except for IE:

    Code:
    <a href="javascript:window.opener.initiateStatusSort(); window.close();"><input type="button" value="Close" /></a>
    Any bright ideas would sure be appreciated.

    If need be, the update could occur after the window close if there were some way for the parent to detect the closed window, but the above is the preferred method.

    Code:
    <input onclick="window.opener.initiateStatusSort(); window.close();" type="button" value="Close" />

    Solved

    My first reaction was ah ... I've tried that.
    Apparently, I hadn't.

    Thanks Fang! You just made my world a lot brighter! I was getting ready to rewrite a whole bunch of code!
