curious ie7 (ie8 compatibility view) problem - suckerfish

    link

Hover over the text "Educator Links" above the banner. In IE8, Chrome, and Fx, the dropdown appears under the text. In IE8's compatibility view (I'm assuming is IE7), the text appears to the right.

I can't for the life of me figure this one out. If I enclose "Educator Links" in a link tag, the problem goes away. What I don't understand is what is causing this, considering both the <a> and <li> tags have their display set to block and width set.

    Thanks,
    KDLA

Could you post a link to your Website?

    Sorry, missed that one.
The drop-down doesn't appear at all in my IE 7. It works fine in FF though.

    Ok got it.
Wrap the Educator Links inside <div>s
    i.e. <div>Educator Links</div>

This will turn Educator Links into a block-level element and push everything after it onto the next line.
