background body position problem

Hello. My name is Mark.

I am trying to develop a website that utilises a background that has a divide in it. The top half will be white and the other will be grey #ccc.

What I am trying to create is a background that works with the website so when the page is changed the body bg moves with the nav bar.

I have attached an image of how I am working at it at the moment but I cannot get it to work for the life of me at all.

Any tips would be amazing!!

Hi Mark,

If I understand correctly you want main menu always appear on the top of grey area. So why don't just put menu and other elements below it to div and set to that div background-color: #ccc. And for body background: white.
