The reason why the alert doesn't work is because you've misspelled the property, it's success, not succes. Does the database insert work? If it doesn't, it may be because the Javascript breaks when it encounters the 'succes' property.
I've switched careers... I'm NO LONGER a scientist, but now a web developer... awesome.
I was running tons of variations of it, and didn't realize the last few variations actually worked
