    Migration to Apache from Zeus

I have just migrated my website to Apache - mainly because I kept running into problems with the non-standard .htaccess support in Zeus.

Everything went well with the transfer except - .... the .htaccess - now why aren't I surprised.

Can anyone help out with the proper Apache code that is equivalent to the following Zeus:
    Code:
    # <-- re-direct any old partners references to new website -->
    redirect permanent /partners/allans/* http://www.avalon-family-history.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/index.html
    Any help greatfully received

I expect that the 'redirect' needs to be 'RedirectMatch' but dont understand the reg ex needed and I dont see how to make it a '301' 'permanent' redirect when using 'RedirectMatch'. using Rewrite is also an option I suppose but I find that even more confusing.

What I want is any reference to any file in the folder
    http://www.telfordsteamrailway.co.uk/partners/allans/
    to redirect to
    http://www.avalon-family-history.pwp....uk/index.html

    I tried
    Code:
    RedirectMatch 301 ^/partners/allans/(.*)$ http://www.avalon-family-history.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/index.html
That seems to redirect pretty much any file requeted from that folder

    BUT
    not http://www.telfordsteamrailway.co.uk...ans/index.html
