    Web Page Maker problem

    Hi all.

    Decided I would attempt to make my own web page.

    Personally for a first attempt I'm quite happy.

    One snag is that page appears on some peoples screens as not centered & to the left.

    Can anyone shed any light on what I've done wrong or the setting I need to use to correct this??

    Thanks for any tips

    Mike

    Hi,
    It would be useful if you can show us your code or a link to your page.

    The usual way to center a page is top put all your content in a container <div> tag and center it using CSS

    even my first time here so dono

    anyways i say it tho i didnt go through completely and test it here is what i found

    <div id="text1" style="position:absolute; overflow:hidden; left:553px; top:0px; width:477px; height:135px; z-index:0">
    It clearly is an absolute positioning system and thus you wont get centered always.

    Also seperating the styling information from HTML is recommended. Use CSS
    You can google easily about it and look up how to write CSS and centering will be easy then

    Centering:

    Centering anything requires setting a width less than 100&#37; for the container. Example:

    Code:
    body {
    width: 90%;
    height: 600px; /* optional */
    margin: 0 auto;
    background: #fff url(path to non-tiled image) no-repeat center scroll;
    }

    Example as a Class:

    .selector_name {
    width: 90%;
    height: 600px; /* optional */
    margin: 0 auto;
    background: #fff url(path to non-tiled image) no-repeat center scroll;
    }

    Example as an ID:

    #selector_name {
    width: 90%;
    height: 600px; /* optional */
    margin: 0 auto;
    background: #fff url(path to non-tiled image) no-repeat center scroll;
    }

    web page maker problems

    My fix was to go to page properties/appearance/align/center/apply to all pages.
    Now I need help!!!
    Opened web page maker as usual and received an error code OXCOOCE56D,
    invalid web page maker file, load failed. My web site, northgeorgialive.com, a video streaming web site on N GA, is running fine, can't find page files to work on, no response from tech support, I'm dead in the water.
    Checked deleated files, did file search, no luck in finding problem. If no fix, will have to rebuild entire site, months of work, and this could happen again.
    Could it be a problem with web page maker?
