    tables with same size (width)

    I have created three tables in a page. They all are of different width. How can I make them of same width. Although the fields inside the tables might be of different size. The tables have only two columns. I set the width of the tables to same value. But still they are displayed different size in the browser . Both in IE as well as Firefox.

    I had a similar requirement.

    I suspect that the content of the cells in the columns are skewing.

    Klunky solution

    build a table with more columns than you require.

    merge the rows to have two cell each built from the merger of half the columns.

    Play around with the number of columns to be merged until you get content tolerance.

    Probably much much better ways to achieve what you require, this got me up and running and I will improve it later.

    Below I have made a ten col table and merged 5 into 1 using colspan twice

    <table width="800" border="1" align="center" cellspacing="5" cellpadding="5">
    <td colspan="5">...</td>
    <td colspan="5">...</td>
    Hope this is of some use to you.
