Problem with images as buttons

I want to use an image as a button, but when I use this:

<input type="image" etc...>

it also outputs the x,y coordinates in the url of where the user clicked on the image. (Eg http://localhost/lcp/carpetlist.php?city=houston,+tx&x=0&y=0). I don't want this.

So I tried the

<button>

element, but I get this:

I want this, without the trailing x,y coords
http://i.imgur.com/89a8Y.jpg

Is there some way around this?
