Each year, Freelancers Union gathers data about the freelance community, most of which isn’t captured by government sources. This data helps us understand and explain the nature of independent work, the unique challenges these workers face, their broader impact on the economy, and solutions that support them. Our 2009 survey generated considerable press attention (including The Wall Street Journal and USA Today), and helped shape our advocacy agenda to build protections for independent workers.

The more respondents we get, the better our data, so we urge all independent workers—self-employed, freelance, part-time, or temporary—to complete the survey. Thanks so much!
