Help With Div Styleing!

Hey guys, i'm nikku, i have an error or bug? with my div style html script
heres a pic:

i typed in(in notepad++):

and for some reason, it doesnt use the width:400px and margin:10px in the style... PLEASE HELP!

it should work, what exactly is not right?

Just at a glance, you're missing a <head> section, you're missing the <body>, and you don't have a DOCTYPE. However, you just have a white div on a white body, so I'm not sure what you're expecting to see, but you won't "see" anything different here. Add a border around it, and you will see it is sized to 400px.

and hat will explain why it worked for me, since i just copied the div and pasted it into a regular document -_-
