Best method of learning php application development
I would class myself as an intermediate PHP developer, I am fairly competent with most areas of PHP including OOP. I want to learn how to develop applications though, like best practices and database management for large applications. Any books or websites you would recommend?
One book I recommend for all PHP developers: PHP 5 Objects, Patterns, and Practice by Matt Zandstra. One you might find interesting in seeing how an actual application is built is PHP 5 Social Networking by Michael Pea****. While I don't 100% agree with everything in the book, it is still a useful example (see my review).
