SWF not playing in IE

Hello all, hope you are well.

I have an swf embedded in my website.

In google chrome and firefox it works fine however in IE8 it does not. I think it works in earlier versions of IE.

Here is the code:

<TD vAlign=top align=left><EMBED height=100 type=application/x-shockwave-flash width=300 src="banner.swf"  originalWidth="375" originalHeight="125" bgcolor="#000080" quality="high" allowNetworking="internal" allowScriptAccess="never" allowFullScreen="true" play="true" loop="true"></TD>

Can anyone suggest how to fix this?

Replace your <embed> code with this:

<object data="path_to_file/file.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="insert_width_of_movie" height="insert_height_of_movie">                    
          	<param name="movie" value="path_to_file/file.swf">
             <param name="SomeOtherParam" value="ParamValue">
</object>

IE in particular requires the

<param name="movie" value="path_to_file/file.swf">
