Question about email accounts and guestbook

Hello all, I am new to the site, found via Google trying to find my answers.
I have two questions, I apologize if they are in the wrong category.

1. I have a domain name which I purchased already, I do my own hosting at my house. The website is nothing more than my personal fun thing. How do I setup email accounts such as User1@mydomain.com, User2@mydomain.com, user3@mydomain.com, etc? The website was purchased through GoDaddy but I don't want to pay for the accounts, since it's really just my personal thing for fun. My ISP does block ports, so to get to my website it is www.mydomain.com:1337 (I have to use port 1337 instead of the standard port 80 cause it is blocked) Is it possible to setup my own email server, and if so how?

2. What is the easiest way to add a guestbook to my website? I know I can sign up for services and have a link to a guestbook on some other website, but is it difficult to add one to my actual page, so people that go there can write something there, and it stays there?

ISP's often restrict SMTP traffic too. In any case -- rather than set up your own mail server, I would highly recommend using Gmail. You can get 50 free mailboxes @ yourdomain.com with the standard >7gigs of storage.

Otherwise, if this is a learning project, I'd start with postfix: http://www.postfix.org/start.html

... sort of simple alternative to sendmail.

Awesome, I was able to successfully setup Gmail with my domain.

FYI, a day or two after I posted, Gmail reduced the free mailbox count from 50 to 10 for new signups. So, if you didn't sign up before the policy change, you only get 10 free mailboxes

It says you still do get 50 there too, but my control panel for it says I have 46 remaining, since I have created 4. Thanks
