Icon to html title tag

Hallo all!

on the web page for the " Virtual Globe" I create shortcut. I used tag LINK:
<LINK rel="shortcut icon" href="http://www.multi-touch-solution.com/bilder/earth.ico"> with the Earth picture.

But... It works just for favorites.

Question: How it works for Tab Icons?

Make sure your .ICO file is really in format X-ICON. Other browsers can sniff a .GIF, a .BMP or whichever as an. ICO by simply changing the extension. IE can not be fooled that way Your favicon earth.ico is, in fact, a Bitmap type, not an x-icon, as it should be.

Another thing: place your favicon in the root of the site, not in a folder.

I put favicon.ico in the root of my website Multi-touch Earth solution.

But...
It dosn't work with IE.

I asked my designer to convert my bitmap into x-icon format.
Will be see...

The some problem I have under IE with web site Restaurator M&#252;nchen, but under Chrome and Firefox it works!

Try to not specify the type:

One is enough:

And, once again: your icon must be a ICON. Your icon is in fact a BMP, not an ICON type... Your designer has not converted your BMP into an ICO.

i think you can use paint in windows and when you save the file just add .ico to it or use an online icon generator to convert your image to a .ico file
