    I would like to give my wordpress blog some borders

    guys, I would like to give my wordpress blog some borders. around the left, bottom, and right. probably 1px width. But I can't seem to guess the right class, or id for defining css. Also, I've tried border-left-style: solid, border-left-colot: black, border-left-width: 1px on the "main" id and "root" id, but the border doesn't show. Am I using the right css and placing it on the right ids

    thanks

    3 options for you:
    HTML Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <html>
    <head>
        <meta charset="utf-8">
        <title>Borders</title>
        <style>
    	div {
    	    width: 100px;
    	    height: 100px;
    	    margin-bottom: 2em;
    	}
    	#a {
    	    border-left: 1px solid #000;
    	    border-bottom: 1px solid #000;
    	    border-right: 1px solid #000;
    	}
    	#b {
    	    border: 1px solid #000;
    	    border-top: 0;	/* removes top border */
    	}
    	#c {
    	    border-width: 0 1px 1px 1px;  /* T R B L */
    	    border-style: solid;
    	    border-color: #000;
    	}
        </style>
    </head>
    <body>
        <div id="a"></div>
        <div id="b"></div>
        <div id="c"></div>
    </body>
    </html>
    Choose what you like and apply it to the appropriate element/id/class

    I can only see the border when I apply to "content" id, but I apply it to "root" or "main" id, the border shows in a small portion between the main maneu and the first post. Even though, "content" id is inside the the other two id/tags. Why are root and main borders not extending all the way down to the bottom?

    thanks

    According to Chrome's developer tools (F12) "root" and "main" have 0 (that's zero, not oh) height. Why? Don't know, although I suspect some "floats". You chose Wordpress and a theme. You debug. TBH, I have neither the time nor the inclination to hunt it down.

    In WordPress, you can give the customized size for your content height and width. So where is the problem?
