Ive just bought çdn.com since i wanted a CDN for a few sites and thought i'd be clever but ive just noticed in some browsers to redirects to the ASCII set version and in others it doesn't.
Im wondering what should happen i dont see why Firefox and Chrome should translate it unless its detecting my language in my OS and doing it.
It really depends on the browser. The most important thing to remember is that you actually purchase the gibberish (actually, punycode) when buying IDNs, so browsers are free to display them as they are, or try to decode them.
There's no way around this, so we always suggest using a "normal" domain as your primary, and using IDNs to redirect to it.
