    Angry two slideshows on same page

    I have two slideshows using jquery on the same page. They are identical. Here is the code:

    <script type="text/javascript">

    function slideSwitch() {
    var $active = $('#slideshow IMG.active');

    if ( $active.length == 0 ) $active = $('#slideshow IMG:last');

    // use this to pull the images in the order they appear in the markup
    var $next = $active.next().length ? $active.next()
    : $('#slideshow IMG.active');

    $next.css({opacity: 0.0})
    .animate({opacity: 1.0}, 700, function() {
    $active.removeClass('active last-active');

    $(function() {
    setInterval( "slideSwitch()", 1000 );

    I can only get one to work at a time. What do I do to get both to work simultaneously?

    This is not the right place to ask javascript related topics . I think you have to posted in JavaScript Discussion
