I don't care for the boxed in "See" Know " "Touch"
I agree.
I think its too personal. No offense, as a customer, im looking for web development and being told to "know and touch" fable makes me feel like im in a pornographic film, which is exactly what you DON'T want.
Also what is the point in the element selector? Not only does it overlay the main text, instead of below the selector button, why does it matter? Im a stupid customer, I wont work out such a button or get any joy from it.
To have a play around with tools, I would need a seperate page with instructions, to show me what is possible. If you want to play with different backgrounds, have it rotating slowly in the background, that might look nice ...
Also the language selector? OK, you're giving me the choice between italian and english but what if I dont understand any english and im a customer in your country?
When I change the language, all it does is verify the language change, yet since the site is in flash, it doesnt change most of the site content. If you want a bi-lingual site, duplicate the flash with italian translations.
Use a browser detect object to distinguish my country (italy or international) and give me the site based on my location as a default.

I would make the say hi hello link go to the contact page if js doesn't load.
I dont mind that bit too much, the main menu navigation bothers me more ...

About the text on the homepage, I speak Italian so I was not sure it sounded good in english. I wanted a slogan that was related to the title of the portfolio, "fable" and "sign", and in which each word was linked to a section of the site (portfolio, about me, contact). It may be that for an englishman the sentence "See sign to know and touch fable" did not make sense Also someone else told me this, so I've just changed it in "See the sign to get in touch with the fable".

The site is in xhtml + javascript, no flash.

Yes, I hope to traslate soon the website, then I'll use a browser detect to know if the guest is italian or not.

Another change I'd like to do is put the links "flash", "website", "webapp" and so on, that are on the "portfolio" page, also in the homepage. So, in the homepage there will not be just that sentence.
I updated my portfolio, following the advice received. I changed colors, the azure background was too little contrast to the text. I also made other changes (auto scroll in the portfolio page, white background, links to the portfolio sections on the homepage, to increase navigation speed...)

Looks great. Some interesting techniques used on your site. Good luck with your development. Do you have a easy to follow tutorial on how to do the pop up circles that you demonstrate on the home page?
