    Question Quicktime Video is not playing in all browsers...

    I am trying to help a friend who is having trouble with some people/browsers seeing his videos...some of them show up and some of them don't. The problem pages are these:

    http://www.robert-hanley.com/actor/videos.html

    http://www.robert-hanley.com/fellowship/videos.html

    http://www.robert-hanley.com/actor/video2.html

    They work on my home computer and not my work computer...my guess is they require the latest quicktime player, but is there a way so that it doesn't have to have the latest quicktime player?? Your help is truly appreciated!!

    .htaccess and EMED

    Hello,

    don't forget to place a .htaccess in folder (on websserver) with media.

    f.e.

    AddType video/ogg .ogv
    AddType audio/ogg .oga .ogg
    AddType video/webm .webm
    AddType audio/webm .webm
    AddType audio/mp4 .mp4 .m4a
    AddType video/mp4 .mp4 .m4v
    AddType application/x-shockwave-flash .swf
    AddType video/x-FLV .flv
    AddType audio/mpeg .mp3
    AddType audio/wav .wav
    AddType audio/midi .mid .midi
    AddType application/pdf .pdf
    AddType application/zip .zip .7z

    And use EMBED-Tag in HTML

    f.e.

    <embed type="video/divx" src="movie.divx"
    width="320" height="260"
    pluginspage="http://go.divx.com/plugin/download/">
    </embed>

    MS Internet Explorer can use EMED.

    Cu.

    Embedding quicktime for web

    see http://support.apple.com/kb/TA26485?viewlocale=en_US
    for all attributes of EMBED.
    Warning: If Quicktime AND DivX installed on same OS then EMBED
    is used by Quicktime AND DivX-Plugin at same moment in browser.
    Tip: Use only Quicktime. Or active-X-control (only Internet Explorer).

    I think this is because there are some browsers who do not support a quicktime plug in. I suggest that you take a look whether the browser you are using is compatible with any quicktime plug in. If not, there are other alternatives you can use to make it run. I am not sure though if vlc has a web plug in. I have been seeing a lot of jw players but they seem to take a long time to load.
