I used to be a staff member on a website that I frequently visit, and lately the site's been having some caching issues. When I visit the site, I don't always see the latest content, but content that was the latest about a month ago. Almost every time, I have to refresh the page twice to get the new content.
I have cleared my cookies/cache, tried different browsers, and still have the same issue. I asked one of the administrators on the site about it, and it turns out that other visitors have been experiencing the same issue.
I don't know what's going on behind-the-scenes anymore, but I know the web server the site runs on is lighttpd. The site is load-balanced on 4 web servers. The administrator mentioned the possibility of the databases not syncing properly, but I don't think that's the problem, or I wouldn't be able to view the latest content after two refreshes.
Any ideas what might be causing this? Thanks for all your help.
