check out xtreemhost..idk if they offer smtp but they probably do they offer free MySQL Databases

From the looks of it repeater, doesnt look as if they do. The host i use, 000 web host, doesnt allow it on their free plan either.

I think if you want any other forms of scripting apart from php or any server features, you will have to pay. I can see a free host service being abused otherwise.

By the way ballball, have you tried asking the university for some space on their server or tried to ask individuals with private servers to donate some resources for educational purposes?

You might look for some freehosting providers and also some free email hosts which provide smtp service. I doubt you will find a combination of both as a single entity.
