Drop down wont remain active when i go to subitem

I need the main menu item to remain highlighted when i hover to the subb item. Can anyone help with this.

you have to do is add the function of stylistic change the onmouseover event to happen in the submenu to change the menu style required.
example

Main
------ Menu (1)
---------------- Submenu (2)
Place the function menu style change (1) in the onmouseover event Submenu item (2)

This gives the solution.

How do i write the function mouseover in the submenu.Do i still keep the one outside the submenu. Thanks
